"We would have won more but Covid got in the way!"
- Kevin Smith

It is with great sorrow that our Junior Girls co-ordinator and head
Coach, Kevin Smith, will be stepping down at the end of the season.
Kevin has been instrumental in building up the girls and latterly 'starting' the
ladies section to what it is today. Without his determination and
endless enthusiasm and drive the Junior Girls section 'The Falcons'
would not have had the success that they so rightly deserved.

Kevin's Journey started in Hordle School in 2016 coaching years 5 and 6 girls and boys. From there he then started girls training over that winter and into the summer of 2018 starting an U13 team, who won the county cup in their first season.

He has grown the Girls/Ladies section to now have over 130 playing members, consisting of Under 9', 11's, 13's, 16's and 19's. There are 2 women's hardball teams, and one women's softball
team.

Over the years the girls have won:
Brian King Cup (U11 Softball County Cup for the last 4 years!)
U11 County Hardball Cup in the last 2 years
U13 County Cup Twice
U16 County Cup once
and in 2023 they won every trophy in Hampshire!

Kevin leaves the Falcons in an amazing and very strong position, and the committee and indeed the whole club owe Kevin a huge debt of gratitude and thanks for his work over the years.

With Kevin's departure, the club is on the look out for someone or a small group of people to take over from Kevin - big shoes to fill! If anyone is interested in carrying on Kevin's legacy, or help in any small way please contact either Steve Taylor or Dan Wooster
(Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively)
